Computer Science Department (CS)
The Department of Computer Science at FIST, affiliated with COMSATS University Islamabad, prepares students for the rapidly evolving world of computing and technology. Program Overview
The BS Computer Science program at the Faisalabad Institute of Science and Technology (FIST), affiliated with COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), follows the same curriculum, course structure, degree requirements, and academic standards prescribed by CUI.
Computer Science encompasses the theoretical and practical aspects of computing, including computer technologies, software systems, and their applications. The program provides students with a strong and lasting foundation in the discipline, supported by a comprehensive selection of elective courses. It is designed for students interested in both the mathematical foundations and practical applications of computer science.

The BS Computer Science degree is a four-year program comprising eight semesters. The maximum time allowed to complete the degree is twelve semesters. The degree is awarded after completing a minimum of 133 credit hours, including six credit hours for the final-year project, with a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.00 out of 4.00.

Applicants are eligible for admission to the BS Computer Science program at FIST if they have completed Intermediate or an equivalent qualification, including A Levels, from a recognized institution with at least 50% marks. Applicants must also obtain a minimum score of 50% in the NTS-NAT or the applicable admission test prescribed by FIST / COMSATS University Islamabad
